Note Website Intent And Structure We have tried to be comprehensive, holistic and at the same time stay relevant. It is quite a task, believe it. The intent is to nurture Indian Sport, in whatever way we can, and present an objective and clear picture perspective on Indian Sport. The feeding parameters are India’s History of Sport and the reality or the presence of present day sport in the global arena with specific respect to India’s place in it. That is why you find certain categories on this page, This is by no means final, and is certainly subject to amendments. Shifting of sports, from one type of category to other is a definite possibility. However, you’ll find that currently, all the sports listed herein have their own pages (which, in any case would be) whose url’s are simple and direct. The url is www.sportstimes.in/SportName.htm and there are no folders currently. Of course, this is completely based on our understanding. We are enthusiastic about Sports. The intent is totally unbiased. We have gone through (and will continuously update ourselves) the List of Olympic Games Sports and the List of Asian Games Sports. Surprisingly for some, we may be in some disagreement with the inclusion of certain disciplines in previous Olympics and Asian Games. However, certainly they will (not all necessarily) find mention here since they have a following and sports lovers enthusiastically play them or indulge in that sport. But yes, one of the major underlying and all pervading theme for the inclusion in the Main List is the spirit with which the Modern Olympics were revived! The other major underlying theme is the Indian context and the Indian hinterland. Third is the International stature of the sport. That should give an idea of the place of this site in cyber space and what is expected from it and the manner in which it will develop and the direction it will take. We hold no PhD in Sports, but possess a head, and a spirit (sporting spirit, buddhu)! How’s that one? Some folks may be surprised at the inclusion of certain sports in the main (some might even not have heard about them). They are there because in our opinion they are true Indian Sports with that SOLID Olympic Spirit! Also, we ourselves desire that they should be popularized with International Competitions. Quite a bit of head banging has gone in. These questions and more have constantly stared at us and stare presently too. All the research is internal or in-house. # If this particular sport is included in the main list then why is that sport not included in the main list? # This is actually the most popular sport / game in India, the most talked about in the media and it is not in the main list on this sports website, are you alright in the head? # This is a rustic sport. Should it be included? # Why are these two sports in the same type of category, and what is that category? These two sports look so divergent. # This is included in the Main List but is actually an Entertainment Value Sport only since there is a deliberate separate category for it. Why is it included in the Main List? # How do you know this is still an essentially foreign sport? There is a National Federation for it. Welcome to the World! # The entire method of categorization is wrong. # True, this is a forgotten Indian Sport but it is forgotten now. Why include it? It has given way to something else, it is called something else. It has been modified and is hardly present in its original form. Mahabharat is not being revisited! # This is not sport at all and appears stupid. Remove it. # Does it really possess the Olympic Spirit? Why include it in the Main? # Goodness gracious, this certainly possesses the Olympic Spirit, and is not included in the Main? So once again, wish us all the best and let’s see how the site develops.

(n). ... Any presumption that the phrase “The Times Of” is an ‘exclusive preserve for media usage only’ is also wrong to the best of our understanding. Here, “The Times Of” is a part of the website title. #3. The phrase “The Times Of Sports India” is a generic phrase. The whole of it forms the whole of the website’s current landing page title. The usage of the same phrase is not an attempt to capitalize on anything. The phrase in its entirety has actually been coined by us and is not a derivation from anywhere or anything or of anywhere or anything and also is not a manipulation from anywhere or anything or of anywhere or anything. It seemed like a very logical and immediate outcome for the title by simple instinct and impulse. The intent or the meaning or the implication of the title is ‘Information (or providing information) on / about sports on a regular basis India’. #4. The intent of the website on the said domain is (i). to present information to the general public, to the entire world regarding ‘sports’ in India or of India or from India or related to India ‘in any way’. Also read that the intent of the cyber presence on the domain sportstimes.in is also (ii). to present information to the general public, to the entire world regarding sports (as mentioned earlier in this para) in the world, of the world, from the world ‘in any way’. Read also about (ii). that all the sports of the world shall probably be never covered by this website. Currently, that is not the intent, but we are not bound. That would be a super gigantic task, by the way. So, global information pertaining to sports may be limited, even very limited in terms of the ‘number of sports’ or ‘number of disciplines. Also read that (iii). both (i) and (ii) include, and are not limited to, ‘sports derivatives’ and ‘pertaining to sports’. Read also about (i) that (iv) all sports of India may never be covered by this website by way of holding separate pages for them or even a passing mention anywhere. We are not bound.
